|
|
The uber talented Ben Templesmith is coming to visit cIndyCenter.com... okay, he isn't really coming here... but he is going to talk with us on the phone. So, please EMAIL a question to me a admin@cindycenter.com for the interview with Ben, ASAP!
(SORRY I HAVE HAD TO LOCK THE FORUMS DUE TO SPAMMERS)
Ben is the creative genius behind the cIndyCenter.com recommended title "Wormword: Gentleman Corpse", published by IDW.
The blurb from IDW, about Wormwood: Ben Templesmith returns with his first solo project since Singularity 7. Meet Wormwood, the English-accented, beer-drinking, sentient corpse possessing a maggot expat from the Hell dimension. Well, one of them. If he's not attempting to save Earth from demonic, parasitic fungal infections or undead strippers, then he's off drinking with his homemade mechanical sidekick, Mr. Pendulum.
Ben is an extremley busy creator; he also currently works on "Fell" (with Author Warren Ellis) the visually stunning Hatter M, and he is the cover artist for Oni Press' Wasteland (another cIndyCenter.com favorite).

Your work scares me... but that is a good thing.
When you are putting together an image what I find interesting is that you don't put everything in... how do you determine what your going to put in a given image? |

I love your live journal entries.... great visual sneak peeks and very clever and funny writing. The pic of the wormwood halloween costume is awesome!
Do you think that your online sites are an effective marketing tool? |

One of my favorite projects of yours is Singularity 7...
In a great interview on ComicBookResources.com, you described the series as:
"It's like fried lamb brains chased down with 3 shots of vodka," joked Templesmith when asked to describe the series. "Really, it's just a comic, dealing with a couple concepts of nanotechnology, Armageddon, God, and a few other things I forget. Oh, and a lot of people die."
Awesome!... I just want to know how you think of this stuff. |

| Fell is an amazing series!!!! I think that you and Ellis are a perfect match. Can you describe the creative process/collaboration with Ellis on the book? |

1- What do see yourself doing, an how do you see yourself and your
work evolving in, give or take, ten years?
2- You once did that legendary Ghost Rider pitch to Marvel... which
was most awesome, of course. Right now, you're very busy doing Fell
and your own creation WormWood, but would you consider doing a pitch
like that for a company-owned character again? If you HAD to, which
existing character(s) would you like to work on, and who would you
like as a writer?
3- If you'd have to put together an anthology, which theme would you
pick? Which creators (writers/artists) would you want to put in it?
Which creators would you team up?
4- Can you do that Tennessee accent again? |
